Aisling Productions was founded in 2015 by Declan McGrath, a producer-director with over twenty-years experience as a film editor.

Declan also writes about cinema, including two books on screencraft, each one translated into five languages.

A music documentary for TG4, LOMAX IN ÉIRINN (2018) tells how one man’s dream to save the music of the world lead to the first LP of traditional music.

The film premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2018 and has since screened at festivals throughout Europe and America.

MARY MCALEESE & THE MAN WHO SAVED EUROPE

A historical documentary with dramatic reconstruction for RTE and BBC, THE MAN WHO SAVED EUROPE (2016), follows Mary McAleese through five countries uncovering the story of the sixth-century Irish man who dreamt of uniting Europe.

The film premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2016 and subsequently sold to Canal Plus (France), TV2 (Denmark) and LRT (Lithuania). In 2018, it was screened at the Economic and Social Committee of the European Union in Brussels.

An arts documentary for RTE and Oireachtas TV, A WOMAN”S PLACE (2018) tracks the painting of a portrait of all the female politicians in the Houses of the Oireachtas to mark the 100th anniversary of female enfranchisement.
